Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili will meet French President Francois Hollande later this week.
Margvelashvili together with his wife Maka Chishua and a Georgian delegation will pay a three-day visit to France starting April 20.
The meeting will serve to deepen Georgia-France relations.
The Georgian presidential couple will be welcomed with a special ceremony at the Les Invalides, a historic palace in Paris. Later the couple will be hosted by President Hollande at Elysee Palace.
While in France, Margvelashvili will meet senior political and cultural officials.
He will visit the historic Leuville castle and see the library, which was restored using funds from the Georgian President’s Reserve Fund. At the castle Margvelashvili will meet descendants of Georgia’s first government members, who settled in exile in the French castle in 1921 after fleeing Georgia in the wake of the Soviet military invasion.
Meanwhile a special reception in Paris will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the restoration of Georgia’s independence.
President Margvelashvili and the Georgian delegation will leave France on April 23.
