Georgia will soon be the first Eastern European country to welcome Moxy Hotel to the region.

Leading American hospitality company Marriott International will open the Moxy Hotel – its third hotel under the flagship Marriot Hotels brand in Georgia’s capital – by the end of 2017.

The new hotel will focus on the rapidly growing three-star-tier market by offering a combination of top service, smart design and affordable prices.

Construction of the new chic hotel started today at Saarbrucken Square, where Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili attended a ceremony marking the official beginning of works.

I am glad a new hotel will be built at such beautiful place. Moxy Hotel will be designed to fit mid-to-low budgets, which will be more affordable for tourists. This is a very important investment which exceeds $25 million USD,” Kvirikashvili said.

The PM added he was glad the new hotel was being built near the Marjanishvili district where the Government was implementing the New Tiflis project. The project aimed to boost the economy, develop tourism and contribute to the well-being of Tbilisi’s residents.

The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the US government’s development finance institution, will help Georgia implement the multi-million dollar project.

Meanwhile GMT Group, a leading private sector investor in Georgia and the owner/developer of the five-star Tbilisi Marriott Hotel, will also be a developer of the Moxy Hotel.

The new hotel will boast 130 rooms and be located at Saarbrucken Square, formerly known as Vorontsov Square, in a historical part of the city.

The Moxy Hotel will feature two iconic buildings that are landscaped around four outdoor pools, including one infinity-edged pool, luxury tropical gardens and a grand lawn.
