Preparations for the NATO Summit in Warsaw this July was one of the topics Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili discussed with American and European leaders during bilateral meetings in Washington.
Margvelashvili, who participated in the Nuclear Security Summit in the United States (US) capital, summed up his Washington visit and said international leaders supported Georgia's sovereignty and western aspirations.

"I witnessed the full support of Georgia’s foreign political course,” Margvelashvili said following his US meetings.
"I witnessed the absolute support for those goals that Georgia has.”
Margvelashvili stressed Georgia would be on the agenda at the upcoming NATO Summit and hoped the event would help NATO-Georgia relations progress.

The European leaders whom Margvelashvili met face-to-face in Washington included the President of Poland, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Prime Minister of Norway, Prime Minister of Hungary.
Following the meetings Margvelashvili said Norway showed interest in Georgia’s energy sector and the two countries would deepen relations in this direction.
Meanwhile Margvelashvili invited the Polish President to Georgia, which the official accepted and said would visit the country after the NATO Summit.
