The hotel boom is continuing in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, which now enjoys one more new hotel close to the quiet centre of the ancient city.
A new four-star hotel Astoria Tbilisi opened today on Chitadze St. The hotel is located within five minutes walking distance from Tbilisi’s main Rustaveli Ave, which hosts a range of shops, restaurants, cafes and shady squares.
The 146-room hotel employees 83 people, said the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA).
Before opening Astoria Tbilisi hotel, the Astoria brand opened another Astoria hotel on Aghmashenebeli Ave in Tbilisi’s Marjanishvili district.
The Astoria company invested 32 million GEL (about $14 million/€12 million*) to open both hotels in Tbilisi, said the agency.
Favorable location, proximity to the heart of the city and a quiet atmosphere are the main advantages of Astoria which justly has a status of "unexceptionable ”,” said Astoria Tbilisi management.
Recently a luxury boutique hotel, City Avenue, opened in Tbilisi.
A Turkish investor spent 12 million GEL (about $5.27 million /€4.7 million*) to build the new hotel.
Meanwhile, Tbilisi is expecting five-star Pullman hotel to open in Tbilisi’s twisted skyscrapers - Axis Towers.
Radisson, one of the world’s best-recognised hotel brands, was also due to open a three-star hotel in the capital city Tbilisi.
The Park Inn by Radisson hotel will be located in central Tbilisi, just off the capital’s main commercial street and only 200m from the former Georgian House of Parliament.
Construction works on this project started earlier this year and the hotel will open its doors in 2017.
The total cost of the project will be $25 million USD.
Furthermore international hotel chain Hyatt Group will open a hptel in Georgia’s capital and offer luxury service that can cater for hundreds of guests.
After Berlin, Deli, Dubai, London and Paris, Tbilisi will soon be the latest member of the Hyatt Hotels Corporation family, with a Hyatt Regency Hotel set to open in central Tbilisi in 2017.
The 170-room hotel will be located in the central city and will open in the former Ministry of Justice building of Georgia’s Ministry of Justice, on Rustaveli Ave.
