Tbilisi has "strongly condemned” the "terrible terrorist act” that killed more than 70 people in Pakistan on Sunday.
"The attack claimed the lives of more than 70 innocent people including children. We are horrified by the scale of the tragedy and barbarism committed by terrorists, which represents the biggest crime against the civilized world,” Georgia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia extends condolences to the Government of Pakistan and the families of those killed in the attack; we wish a quick recovery to those who were injured.”
At least 400 people were injured, with officials saying they expected the death toll to rise.
Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili condemned the attack in a special written statement released this morning.
The President said "the people of Georgia stands with the people of Pakistan” in this time of grief.
"Georgia firmly condemns all forms of terrorism and together with the international community, we jointly continue to fight this greatest danger of the modern world,” Margvelashvili said.
Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili also condemned the terror act and said this was a "tragedy for the entire world, for each of us".
The head of the Georgian Government also shared his message on his official Twitter account:
Our thoughts and prayers are with Pakistani people. We Strongly condemn this act of terrorism. #Pakistan#Lahoreblast

The explosion ripped through the heart of the city of Lahore on Sunday evening, at a time when many families were at the city's Gulshan Iqbal Park to celebrate the Easter holiday. Many women and children were among the victims.
A Taliban splinter group said it was responsible for carrying out the suicide attack. Jamaat-ul-Ahrar said it had targeted Christians celebrating Easter, however police said they were still investigating the claim.
