Georgia's Sukhishvilebi National Ballet is showing no signs of easing off their performance schedule after successfully concluding its 70th anniversary celebrations last year.

Today the ballet troupe is in the middle of four performances in Ukraine, with last night’s show sold out in capital Kiev.

Last year Georgia’s folk dance company toured 11 countries to celebrate the anniversary of its founding, rounding off the year with performances in Italy, San Marino and Switzerland in December.

For the past two and a half months the troupe has been just as busy with a full touring program since the turn of the New Year, staging shows in Eastern European countries since early February.

Now in Kiev, Ukraine, the Sukhishvilebi dancers are in the midst of four consecutive performances.

The performances kicked off on Thursday at the National Palace of Arts "Ukraine", promoted as an ‘artistic symbol’ and the ‘main concert hall’ of the country by theatre management.

Sukhishvilebi showcased Georgian national dance to a sold-out audience on their opening night of performance in Kiev, and a full audience was expected to continue for the remaining three days.

The Georgian National Ballet company will perform again in Ukraine and Moldova from March 14-24 before ending the month with shows in Belarus.
