European Parliament (EP) Member and rapporteur on Georgia Andrejs Mamikins says using the word "blood” [bloodshed] in a democratic country is unacceptable.

Mamikins said this to Georgia’s Public Broadcaster (GPB) yesterday while commenting on the leak of a secret audio recording where Georgia’s ex-president and United National Movement (UNM) party members discuss a scenario to overthrow the authorities after the election.

I’m not speaking about the revolution - that is more or less political – but using the word blood when it comes to a democratic state, is unacceptable. I believe people in Georgia are better educated than we, politicians, think. Each message is heard by voters,” Mamikins said.

The European Parliamentarian said he could see "no sign” of destabilisation in Georgia and he described the pre-election environment in Georgia as "most peaceful” in the country’s history.

Georgia will hold Parliamentary Elections on October 8, 2016.

Georgia’s State Security Service launched an investigation into an alleged "conspiracy to alter constitutional structure of Georgia by violence” after a secret recording went viral yesterday.
