Low visibility in western Georgia has affected the normal functioning of Kutaisi International Airport.

Two international flights that were scheduled to depart from Kutaisi were announced to depart from Tbilisi instead.

Kutaisi Airport said a Wizz Air flight to Warsaw would depart from Tbilisi International Airport at 11.20 this morning (registration started at 09.00).

Another Wizz Air flight towards Budapest will also depart from Tbilisi Airport at 13.00 this afternoon (registration started at 10.00).

The United Airports of Georgia took care of all the passengers of these two flights be transported from Kutaisi to Tbilisi.

Earlier this morning the flights from Warsaw and Budapest to Kutaisi landed in Tbilisi as Kutaisi could not receive them. The passengers were then taken to their initial destination by bus.

Meanwhile air travelers from Istanbul to Kutaisi are facing a long delay. The Istanbul flight was scheduled to arrive in Kutaisi at 3am but it will arrive at 8 this evening.

All other flights will operate as scheduled as the weather is getting better in Kutaisi.

Kutaisi in the country's west is Georgia's second largest city.
