Georgia’s capital Tbilisi is preparing to welcome the North Atlantic Council (NAC) chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg this afternoon.
The NATO top official will chair a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission, with the participation of the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
At today’s governmental meeting Kvirikashvili assessed the visit of NATO leaders as a "message of solid support” for Georgia by the alliance.
"This is a very important message of support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country and proof of recognition of the democratic reforms implemented by Georgia,” the PM said.
During the visit a NATO-Georgia Commission meeting will be held to discuss the implementation of the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package of support.

The NAC meeting will last for two days, with the NATO Secretary General’s meetings with Georgia’s President, Parliament Speaker, other officials, students and civil society taking place on the second day, September 8.
