If you are in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi this weekend, do not miss a one-off outdoor concert uniting 10 of the greatest modern Georgian voices who each sing in famous Opera Houses all over the world.
This Sunday for a rare performance the opera stars will unite and perform together to shine light on Tbilisi and raise awareness of protecting the city.
The singers will perform in Alexander Park on Rustaveli Avenue, beginning at 9pm on August 14, for a public campaign against littering in the city and also promoting the creation of more parks and greener public spaces for Georgia’s capital.
Mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili and tenor Otar Jorjikia, whose performances abroad are already scheduled for several upcoming seasons, found time to return home and get involved in the campaign against littering. They showed off their efforts on social media after they cleaned several public spaces in Tbilisi together with their friends several times this summer, and inspired fans to do the same.
Now, 10 leading Georgian opera singers are uniting their voices this weekend in one of Tbilisi’s most beautiful parks. Tbilisi City Hall is a strong supporter of the event.
