This week’s visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry to Georgia and the four new agreements signed between two countries are not the only subjects of discussion of politicians and Government officials, but also of the Americans who live and work in Georgia.

David Lee, EU-Georgia Business Council Vice Chairman and General Director of Magticom, the largest telecommunication company in Georgia, has commented on photos of Kerry’s two-day visit, saying "[Georgia’s] national safety is the top priority, as Russian soldiers are on Georgian soil. This reality leaves no choice but retaining close relations between the US and Georgia.”

Lee’s comments were posted on his personal Facebook page.

It is obvious that today these relations are closer than it was before. It was clear that the previous Government did not enjoy the [US’] confidence. The previous state leadership lacked human qualities and crisis in the fields of politics, law and human rights protection was an everyday occurrence,” underlined the businessman who has worked in Georgia since 2004.

David Lee says that this picture is the best proof of  the close relationship between two nations today. US State Secretary John Kerry and Georgia's Foreign Minister Mikcheil Janelidze entering Georgia's President's Palace in Tbilisi yesterday. Photo by President's press office.

This photo tells a thousand words. The Government is working in Georgia today. Georgia has become a normal democratic country and a strong partner for Europe and the US,” emphasised Lee in his comment of a photo of the US Secretary General with Georgia’s Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.

Kerry arrived in Tbilisi, Georgia yesterday and spent the day attending official meetings with Georgia’s Prime Minister and President before exploring the city’s Old Town district. Earlier today Kerry met with representatives of opposition political parties before departing for Ukraine about midday.
