US Secretary of State John Kerry comes to Georgia on July 6

The United States (US) Department of State has confirmed US Secretary of State John Kerry is coming to Georgia on an official visit.

Kerry will pay a one-day official visit to Georgia on July 6. 

US Department of State spokesperson John Kirby today announced details of Kerry’s upcoming visit. He said the US official was in Georgia he would meet Georgia’s Prime Minister, President and leaders of opposition political parties.  

The major focus of the meetings will be on Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic intentions and the US’ role in this process, as well as Georgia’s October 8 Parliamentary Elections. 

To coincide with Kerry’s visit, Georgia will host a US-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission  Plenary Meeting on July 6, which will be co-chaired by Kerry. 

After visiting Georgia, Kerry will head to Ukraine and then on to Warsaw, Poland to attend the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Summit on July 8-9.
