Georgia’s Prime Minister is sending his best wishes and congratulations to all police in Georgia today as the nation marks Police Day.
The annual Police Day recognises the efforts, professionalism and hard work of the country’s police force.
Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said Georgia’s police were extremely professional and were trusted and respected by the public.
I congratulate you on Police Day and I express my respect to all policemen and women serving the country. We know and appreciate that you risk your lives to ensure our peace in the present and the future,” said Kvirikashvili in his address this morning.
He also made special mention of the police officers who had died on duty, and said these people deserved to be honoured.
The Georgian high official said Georgia’s police force were worthy of any modern state and had the highest integrity.
We are taking the leading position in the region, and not only in the region, for the professionalism and capability of our police,” the PM stressed.
Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili highlighted "respecting police meant respecting European values”.
He said the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police force were "intolerable to criminals”.
