The Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Elizabeth II has congratulated Georgia on its 25th anniversary of Independence from the Soviet Union.
The Queen sent a letter to the Georgian President’s Administration, in which the Queen addressed President Giorgi Margvelashvili and sent him fond wishes on Independence Day - one of the most significant days in Georgia’s history.
The letter was released this afternoon by the President’s Administration. The Queen wrote:
"It gives me great pleasure to send Your Excellency my congratulations on the celebration of your National Day, particularly in the year in which Georgia celebrates 25 years of independence, together with my best wishes for the good fortune and happiness of the people of Georgia in the coming year".
