Creative pieces by Georgian artists Levan Songulashvili and Tato Akhalkatsishvili have been selected for display alongside 1,000 other works by artists from 30 countries at a prestigious contemporary fair in London, United Kingdom.

From next week, Songulashvili and Akhalkatsishvili’s creations will be displayed in a presentation by Tbilisi-based TNN Art Gallery at the annual Art16 fair exhibition.

This year the event, starting May 20, will shine a spotlight on contemporary works by artists from 30 countries. The two-day exhibition will feature more than 1,000 pieces of contemporary art.

The Georgian artists’ works will be part of collections exhibited by more than 100 art galleries from Europe, North America, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.

This year's Art16 fair will be hosted at the Olympia London exhibition centre in England's capital.

The annual fair was established in 2013 and has since become a "highlight of London’s cultural calendar, kicking off the summer season with a compelling edit of international artists and galleries", its organisers said.

Besides art displays, the contemporary art event will offer visitors an "engaging programme of free talks, expert-led tours and performances" and was promoted as an "unmissable occasion for art-loving Londoners and international collectors alike".

The 2015 edition of the fair hosted more than 24,000 visitors and exhibits from more than 150 galleries from across the world.

The Art16 fair will run from May 20-22.
