The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is pledging to continue supporting the ongoing reforms in Georgia.
Georgia’s Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri received this news in Washington, D.C., where he is currently on an official visit and participating in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group annual spring meetings. IFC is a member of the World Bank Group.
Today Khaduri met IFC Vice President Dmitris Tsitsiragos. The sides reviewed the ongoing programs that were being financed by IFC in Georgia and discussed future cooperation plans.
IFC expressed its desire to increase its support to develop Georgia’s economic sector. During the meeting IFC’s involvement in Georgia’s energy and financial sector was emphasised, as was its successful cooperation with Georgia.
Tsitsiragos said the implemented and ongoing projects of Georgia were "exemplary”.
While in the US, Khaduri has also held meetings with Vice President of the World Bank Group Kyle Peters and Vice President of the World Bank Group in Europe and Central Asia Laura Tuck.
The representatives of the World Bank Group reaffirmed their "full support” for future cooperation with Georgia and noted that the organisation will continue financing Georgia’s significant reforms and investment projects.
