Georgia’s PM discusses future cooperation with SOCAR

Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has held a fruitful meeting with president of Azerbaijani oil company SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev today, where the pair discussed prospects of future collaboration.

Abdullayev is visiting Georgia and while here he is scheduled to meet with other Georgian officials and attend the opening of several facilities built on the basis of joint projects.

During today’s meeting, PM Garibashvili and Abdullayev discussed the economic ties between the two countries, prospects for future cooperation in the energy sector, and exchanged views on planned and proposed SOCAR projects in this country.

Garibashvili said SOCAR was one of the largest investors in Georgia.

The meeting was also attended by director of SOCAR Georgia Mahir Mamedov and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Azer Huseyn.
