Tbilisi hosts European Weightlifting Championship

The strongest athletes in the European continent are gathering in the Georgian capital Tbilisi to participate in the 2015 European Weightlifting Championship.
April 11 was the first day of the seven-day event, which saw about 500 men and women from 36 countries, and European weightlifting high officials, convene in Tbilisi Sports Palace.
The Georgian side is presented by 10 athletes (eight men and two women) in the competition.
The event is broadcast by Eurosport, Europe’s largest television sports network operating in 54 countries across the globe.
The Executive Board of European Weightlifting Federation granted Georgia's National Weightlifting Federation with the authority to organise the Weightlifting European Championship 2015 in Tbilisi in October 2013.
