Georgia's President Giorgi Margvelashvili has congratulated Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic for being elected the new president of Croatia.
"It is a great honour to congratulate you sincerely for being the first lady to be elected as the president of the Republic of Croatia,” read the special statement released by Margvelashvili.
"For Georgia it is important to develop friendly relations with Croatia in terms of politics, economy and culture. I strongly believe that with your leadership the long-term cooperation which exists between our countries will become stronger and develop for the common good of our nations,” Margvelashvili said.
"Your excellency, please accept my deepest respect and best wishes in your future endeavors for peace and welfare of the Croatian people,” Margvelashvili said.
Grabar-Kitarovic was elected the fourth president of the Republic of Croatia on January 11, 2015. She will officially begin her new position on February 19, 2015.
