Georgian village recognised by CNN Travel

One of America’s leading media outlets has recognised Georgia’s mountainous village Ushguli among the 16 best views of the year 2014.

In its Travel section, CNN published a collage of their "favorite" images posted to the CNN Travel Instagram account during 2014.

The view of the ancient tower-houses that peek out from the Ushguli village in Georgia's Upper Svaneti region was the third on the list.

"I consider myself to be well travelled but this was easily one of the most breathtaking scenes that I have ever seen,” iReporter George Rishan wrote as the photo's caption.

The area was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996.
