Georgian plays on show at Beijing’s 6th International Theatre Olympiad

Three Georgian plays have been selected and screened at Beijing's 6th International Theatre Olympiad - an event which is held every four years and showcases the best 47 plays from 22 participating countries.

Macbeth directed by Davit  Doiashvili from Vaso Abashidze Music and Drama Theater, As you Wish directed by Levan Tsuladze from Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre and My Hamlet directed by Beso Kupreishvili, a joint play of the Fingers’ and Kote Marjanishvili’s Theatres were picked to be shown at the international event. 

The occasion was assessed as a success by Georgia's Ministry of Culture, which dedicated a special meeting to summing up the Olympiad. 

The meeting was attended by Culture Minister Mikheil Giorgadze, his deputy Manana Berikashvili, head of Kote Marjanishvili Theatre Eka Mazmishvili,  Art Director of Music and Drama Theater Davit Doiashvili, Art Director of the Fingers’ Theatre Besik Kupreishvili, actors and actresses.
