Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met the president of the German Bundestag (parliament) Norbert Lammert in the Government Administration building in Tbilisi today.
The sides discussed issues relating to Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and prospects of deepening bilateral relations.
The Georgian PM told his German guest about the process of effective implementation of the Georgia-European Union (EU) Association Agreement (AA) and the NATO Substantial Package, as well as the ongoing reforms in the country.
Lammert’s four-day visit to Georgia began yesterday and involved meetings with President Giorgi Margvelashvili , Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili and Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili. His last visit to Georgia was in 2006.
Before Lammert departs Georgia, he is also scheduled to meet with representatives of civil society and head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia.
