Representatives of the United States (US) Embassy to Georgia have congratulated the people of Georgia as they celebrate the New Year in a special video message in Georgian language.

Ten US diplomats sang a Georgian polyphonic song Mravalzhamier (Polychronion, "many years" or "long-lived", literally "long-timed") and wished a happy New Year to Georgians.

See the holiday greetings video in Georgian below.

The video was accompanied with the caption: "Since we can’t send everyone a holiday card, we give you this. Happy New Year, Georgia! (and please be gentle in the comment box! Georgian polyphonic singing isn’t easy!)

Since being published, the video has been positively received and gained multiple positive assessments on Facebook. Georgians thanked the US Embassy for the special greeting and positive emotions the video revealed.

Locals also admitted the video was a good example of diplomacy, friendship and sincerity.

Along with messages of gratitude, Georgians also wished Americans a happy Christmas and New Year.
