Georgia’s Parliament listens to ministerial nominees

Georgia’s Prime Minister candidate Giorgi Kvirikashvili has introduced his nominees for Ministers and his governmental program to the Parliament for consideration.

The Parliament will this afternoon listen to the presented Cabinet Members.

Each Minister nominee will speak at relevant Committees. The thematic hearings will be held simultaneously in various rooms from 1pm at the Parliament Building in Kutaisi.

"The Parliamentary Majority has named Giorgi Kvirikashvili as the candidate to the Prime Minister, nominated by the President. The candidate, in his turn, introduced the cabinet of Ministers and the Governmental program. As he noted, the Cabinet of Ministers is introduced with the minimal changes with the only candidate to the vacant position of the Foreign Minister – Mikheil Janelidze,” Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili said.

After the hearings, the political groups Free Democrats, minority and majority will hear the nominated Cabinet members.

After considerations, the Bureau will sum up the hearings at 9pm this evening.

The Parliament will consider vote of confidence for the Cabinet at the extraordinary session starting at 12pm tomorrow.
