Economy Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili could become Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister.
Prime Minister candidate Giorgi Kvirikashvili said if Parliament confirms the Cabinet tomorrow, Kumsishvili will take the role of the Vice PM.
Kvirikashvili, who Parliamentary Majority named as the PM candidate, will present the Cabinet to Parliament for confirmation on Monday.
These procedures were needed after former PM Irakli Garibashvili announced his surprise resignation on Wednesday.
Garibashvili had two deputies (Vice Prime Ministers) – Foreign Minister Kvirikashvili and Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze. If Kvirikashvili advances as PM, Kumsishvili will take his role as one of Vice PMs while Kaladze will also maintain his role.
