Tbilisi's Marjanishvili Theatre is inviting the city's English-speaking residents to a subtitled version of a Georgian show.
Tomorrow night on the rooftop of the central Tbilisi theatre, actors will perform The Landscape Lacks Warmth, directed by Dimitri Khvtisiashvili. The intention of adding English subtitles to the play was to make the performance more accessible to non-Georgian speakers, said Marjanishvili Theatre staff.
The play, based on Georgian dramatist Tamar Bartaia, was about a creative single woman whose routine life is disrupted by an appearance of a stranger.

The theatre’s preview of the performance stated the play’s characters – performed by Georgian actors – would seek to explore the effects of unexpectedly occurring human relations on settled lifestyles.
The play The Landscape Lacks Warmth was created by a staging group involving costume designer Nino Chitaishvili, composer Zura Gagloshvili and choreographer Gia Marghania. The play premiered at the Marjanishvili Theatre in 2008.

The December 11 performance of The Landscape Lacks Warmth will begin at 8pm. The Marjanishvili Theatre is located on Marjanishvili St in Georgia's capital. The full cast can be viewed on the theatre's official website here.
