Georgia’s Prime Minister begins Bulgaria visit

Georgia and Bulgaria are intensifying bilateral relations.
Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has left for the Bulgarian capital Sofia today, where he will be welcomed by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
The two leaders will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the area of European and Euro-Atlantic integration between the governments of Bulgaria and Georgia.
The two countries will also sign a deal regarding cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The signing ceremonies will be followed by a joint press conference where Garibashvili and Borissov are due to speak to media.
While in Sofia, the Georgian PM will also meet Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev.
Garibashvili was accompanied to Bulgaria by Georgia’s Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Agriculture Minister Otar Danelia.
It’s been four years since a ferry connected Georgia and Bulgaria but this week a new sea service opened to reconnect the two countries.
A ferry service operating between Georgia and Bulgaria is increasing its trip frequency to bolster vehicle and cargo turnover and bilateral tourism between the two countries.

A Georgian Parliamentary delegation, led by Speaker David Usupashvili, is on an official visit to Bulgaria. The delegation representatives today met with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev.
Bulgaria has reconfirmed its "firm support” for Georgia’s visa free travel to Europe and the country’s western aspirations. Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov voiced words of support as he hosted his Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili in Sofia today.
Georgia and Bulgaria are deepening bilateral cooperation across a range of industries including trade and investment, transport, energy, environmental protection, agriculture, tourism and intellectual rights protection.
