Georgia and Britain are searching for ways to develop and improve the existing trade and economic relations both countries currently enjoy.

Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili was on an official visit to the United Kingdom (UK) where he met British Minister of State for Trade and Investment Francis Maude.

Kvirikashvili told Maude about the reforms Georgia had implemented in the economic sector and other areas that would develop and support Georgia’s investment, business and fiscal environment.

The UK side expressed interest in holding special events for the British business society where they can learn more about Georgia’s investment potential.

Georgia’s high ratings offered by international ratings agencies was highlighted, including its leading position in the region in terms of economic reforms and ease of doing business. This recognition "makes Georgia attractive among international investors”, said Kvirikashvili.

The UK side positively assessed Georgia’s initiative to launch the Silk Road Tbilisi event, which highlighted Georgia’s importance as a transit and logistics hub in the region.
