The Georgian court has sentenced a Kyrgyzstani citizen to 14 years in jail after she was found guilty of human trafficking.

Nasibakhon Abdullaeva of Kyrgyzstan was charged with trafficking of a minor, Georgia’s Chief Prosecutor’s Office said.

The case was heard in Batumi City Court in western Georgia’s Black Sea coastal area.

"In April 2013, by promising a highly-paid job, Abdullaeva brought a minor U.A. from Kyrgyzstan to Batumi, seized the latter’s passport, restricted U.A.’s right to freedom of movement, and by the threat of physical assault and violence was sexually exploiting the victim,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.

Batumi City Court found Abdullaeva "totally guilty” of trafficking of a minor under the Georgian Criminal Code and on January 31, 2015, Abdullaeva was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.
