Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili is holding meetings with representatives from global financial institutions in Washington D.C, during his official visit to the United States (US).
Yesterday Margvelashvili met World Bank president Jim Yong Kim. The main topic of the meeting was the economic situation in Georgia.
The sides discussed Georgia’s economic potential; they talked about the important projects that Georgia had implemented in the past as well as current and future projects that were made possible using support from the World Bank.
The high officials also discussed the importance of Georgia’s Association Agreement (AA) with the European Union (EU), particularly the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) and the benefits this will offer Georgia.
Margvelashvili said strategic infrastructural projects that had been implemented using World Bank and other financial institutions’ support had contributed to Georgia’s economic growth.
