High officials from the Georgian Government are visiting the United States and meeting the local business community to raise the profile of Georgia and persuade them to invest in the country.
Georgia’s Vice Premier and Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said the Government was doing its best to attract more American capital, which would spur continuing development.
Attracting more American capital is strategically important for Georgia,” said Kvirikashvili yesterday at the 'Georgia-Making Business Easy' investment forum in New York City.
He said the Government’s goal was to introduce Georgia’s investment environment to more American businessmen.
It is very important for investors to get information about the country directly from the Government head. The Prime Minister [Irakli Garibashvili] presented an extensive report on Georgia’s investment environment. It is very good that the forum was attended by representatives from some large American companies. Such meetings should be held everywhere in the US".
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Garibashvili has met with representatives from the international rating companies Moody’s, Standard and Poor’s and Fitch.
The sides talked about the liberal and preferential business environment that Georgia now offered as well as the political circumstances in the region.
