Georgia’s industrial city of Rustavi is gearing up to host annual international dance music festival Global Gathering this September, with famous British big beat and Grammy-winning artist Fatboy Slim the main headliner for the event.
The summer event - referred to as "the first licensed foreign music festival event” in Georgia - is set to take place on September 11 at Rustavi International Motorpark, a racing venue 20 kilometres southeast of the capital city Tbilisi.
The organisers said an area of 18 square kilometres would be occupied by festival-related infrastructure, including two stages for artists. The full line-up will be announced at a later date however it has been confirmed the occasion will feature both international and local electronic music artists.

In recent years Global Gathering has established itself as a festival featuring mainstream electronic music genres and live acts. Held annually in the United Kingdom and in parallel international locations, organisers last year said the 2015 UK show would "take a break” to "review all elements of the show”. The festival will proceed with the international segment in countries including Georgia, as advertised on the official website.
The rights to hold the Global Gathering event in Georgia was acquired by Bravo Records, a Georgian record label and music entertainment company. The festival is supported by the Georgian National Tourism Administration, Rustavi City Municipality and Kvemo Kartli Administration.
