A top car racing driver from Georgia has triumphed at the FIA European Touring Car Cup.
Georgian driver Davit Kajaia gained a class victory today.
The TC2T polesitter competed at the Slovakia ring this weekend and dedicated his victory to the victims of the Tbilisi flood.
Kajaia urged as many people as possible to donate to the disaster fund.
"The disaster killed 20 people and there are still 24 missing,” he explained.
"Hundreds of people were left homeless and the national zoo was completely destroyed, with half the animals dying or escaping. Now I want to dedicate my sporting participation at the Slovakia Ring to the memory of my compatriots who became victims on that tragic day.”
The 31-year-old is a former Legends champion and is sponsored by the sports club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During his race he wore a black ribbon on his overalls as a mark of respect to those affected by the flood.
