Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has criticized Tbilisi City Hall for the' ongoing roading problem in the capital city Tbilisi.
The poor conditions of the roads were the center of attention of Georgian media and politicians after many Tbilisi citizens complained about the damaged roads. After winter frosts and several rainy days, even main roads in the city remain in a poor condition for the city’s 1.5 million residents.
Irakli Garibashvili, speaking at a Government session, declared Tbilisi City Hall had failed to fulfill their obligations and did not take care of the city’s roads.
"This is a direct sabotage”, Garibashvili stated.
While commenting on the upcoming Mayoral elections, due to take place on June 15 in Tbilisi, Garibashvili said he was sure candidate David Narmania from the current ruling party would win.
"Urgent repair of Tbilisi roads will be the first task Narmania will take care of after his victory,” Garibashvili stated.
Narmania is the country’s current Infrastructure and Regional Development Minster. He will challenge United National Movement candidate Nika Melia in the upcoming elections.
