Georgian skiers take to the slopes in Sochi Olympics

Two Georgian alpine skiers have competed in the Giant Slalom competition at the Sochi Olympics today.

Georgia's two representatives, Alex Beniaidze and Iason Abramishvili, could not complete the first race so were dismissed from the competition without participating in the second race.

Both skiers will participate in the Slalom race on February 22.

Meanwhile Georgia's female alpine skier Nino Tsiklauri completed the Giant Slalom womens event yesterday and placed 49th. She will compete in the Slalom on February 21.

The fourth Georgian Olympian, figure skater Elene Gedevanishvili, will perform on the ice later tonight.

Georgia is represented at the Winter Olympics by four athletes this year.
