The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili began his official two days visit to Azerbaijan this morning.
A plane carrying the Georgian delegation landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.
There, Margvelashvili is expected to meet with the President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. The leaders are set to make a joint press conference after the meeting.
During the official visit, the Georgian delegation will visit the Alley of Honour in Baku, to commemorate the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, as well prominent scientist-ophthalmologist and academic, Zarifa Aliyeva.
Margvelashvili will also commemorate the heroic sons of Azerbaijan who gave their lives Azerbaijan’s struggle for independence and territorial integrity in the Alley of Martyrs, and will lay a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
Tomorrow, the Georgian President will visit the Gakh district of Azerbaijan and meet with local Georgians. He will also visit the city of Gabala.
