A state of the art command and communication military vehicle has been unveiled by the Georgian Ministry of Defence.

The integrated network military vehicle was manufactured and developed in Georgia at the Delta scientific-technical centre.

At today's launch, Defence Minister Irakli Alasania said the vehicle was commissioned to Delta by the Georgian Armed Forces based on lessons learnt in the August War of 2008.

"We have taken the terrible experience of the August War in 2008 into account,” Alasainia said.

"That time one of our major problems was a lack of the communication. Delta has completed its mission perfectly. However, the vehicle should be testified at the warrior environment.”

He said it was important today’s military were equipped with high quality communication equipment.

The integrated network military vehicle was very relevant to the technical assignment of Georgian military service.

The vehicle has been fitted with equipment required to make communication easier for a mobile army.

Delta supervisor Ucha Dzodzuashvili said this vehicle was important in terms of speed and security.

"First of all we have prepared the vehicle’s role specifically for the armed forces and to function well during technical assignments for the army,” Dzodzuashvili said.

"And only after that the armour was launched.”

Today’s presentation was also attended by State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Alex Petriashvili and Secretary of National Security Council Irina Imerlishvili.
