Rugby: Georgia U19 are European Champions

Georgia's development rugby team have retained their title as European Under 19 Champions with a 44-14 victory over hosts Portugal in Lisbon yesterday.

In the competition final, both teams were safe in the knowledge that they had already qualified for the IRB Junior World Trophy next May - Portugal as hosts and Georgia as finalists - but that did not quell the appetite of either side as both were desperate to be crowned European Champion.

After a nervous start from both teams, Georgia scored the first points of the match in the 20th minute. 

Spain placed third in the tournament followed by Russia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania and Poland.
