Georgia offers asylum seekers extra help

People wishing to seek asylum in Georgia are being given more assistance, thanks to the installation of special help desks as Georgia’s main airport.

Information desks specifically for people seeking asylum in Georgia were installed at Tbilisi International Airport today.

Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) installed the special help desks.

There, people can find information on the rights of people who are searching of asylum and current procedures in connection to receiving asylum in Georgia.

The information available from the help desks are translated in five languages: Arabian, English, Persian, French and Russian.
