Almost half a million voters have had their say in the runoff elections as the official voting day is coming to an end.
While there are several hours until voting ends at 8pm, the Central Election Commission (CEC) are calling for a higher voter turnout and are encouraging people to go to voting stations and take part in the runoff elections of the 2014 self-government elections.
Latest election data from the CEC stated by 5pm, about 29 percent of eligible voters throughout Georgia had cast their ballots.
Throughout the whole country, 485,281 voters, or 28.29 percent of those eligible to vote, had visited a polling station and made their choice, the CEC said.
This was a lot less than the amount of people who voted in the initial election on June 15. By 5pm on the earlier election, 34.64 percent had voted.
Meanwhile in Tbilisi, 253,821 people or 27.6 percent of eligible voters, had cast their ballot by 5pm.
In the same time period during the initial elections, voter turnout was also higher, at 29.3 percent in Tbilisi.
