The number of voters who have already made their choice in the 2014 municipal elections has exceeded 1 million, say the Central Election Commission (CEC).
By 5pm, 1,188,215 voters (34.64 percent) of eligible voters have cast their ballot in favour of their preferred candidate in today’s Elections of Representative and Executive Bodies of Local Municipalities.
There are 3,429,748 registered voters in Georgia.

CEC spokesperson Eka Azarashvili said the highest voter turnout was in Racha-Lechkhumi region (52.8 percent) and Guria (47.4 percent), while the least amount of people voted in Tbilisi (29.3 percent).
The CEC will publish final data of voter turnout after the voting ends at 8pm tonight.
