A European Union high official says the EU will not deviate from its decision to sign the Association Agreement (AA) with Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Stefan Fule, delivered a speech in Warsaw at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Board of Directors annual meeting today.
"We have seen Georgia and Moldova successfully implement the deep transformation process. Both countries will get even closer to the European Union at the end of June after signing the Association Agreement with the European Union, which includes a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area Agreement,” Fule stated.
He said the EU will provide a further financial support package for Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to help further development and strengthening.
"Investment conferences are planned … to stimulate the private sector investment. Our political decision with regard to the three partner countries, Ukraine , Moldova and Georgia and the AA/DCFTA connection is as strong as ever,” Fule said.
"This week and next week Georgian and Moldovan Government officials are scheduled to visit Brussels to set future plans," the EU Commissioner said.
The Georgian ERBD managing partner, Georgia’s Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikshvili also attended the meeting in Warsaw.
