The Georgian Dream Coalition has named 25 majoritarian candidates to represent the wider Tbilisi area in the self-government elections on June 15.
The politcal party’s Tbilisi Mayoral candidate, David Narmania, presented the 25 people who will compete for seats in Tbilisi Sakrebulo.
"We have common plans, a common program and I am confident that within the framework of this program and plans, each of them will get an impressive and convincing result at the elections,” Narmania said while presenting the candidates.
"I have no doubt that each of them has a detailed knowledge of the problems in their district and by close and direct communication with the people, they will manage to bring their problems to us, so that we solve these problems.”
Georgian Vice Prime Minister and head of the Georgian Dream electoral campaign Kakha Kaladze also addressed the named candidates and said with joint work they will bring the capital city back on its feet.
"You need to show to Tbilisi, to the whole of Georgia, that Georgian Dream trusts their people and at the same time, the people trust Georgian Dream. We will finish what we have started and if we work together we put the capital back on its feet,” he said.
"Together with Mr. Narmania, you all are professionals, hard-workers, people that the capital - our city – desperately needs, and as some political forces admittwed, was stopped by them.”
The municipal elections will be held in Georgia on June 15, 2014.
Seventy one local self-government bodies - Sakrebulos and 2,088 members of Sakrebulo, 12 city Mayors and 59 heads of the local municipality - Gamgebelis will be elected in the local self-government elections.
Changes to the Election Code mean this is the first time all Mayors and Gamgebelis will be directly elected. Previously only the Mayor of Tbilisi was chosen this way.

* David Zurabishvili, Republican Party – Right part of Saburtalo, part of Pekini St, Losebidze St, Shartava St and the surrounding area of Khiliani, Bakhtrioni, Dolidze and Sport’s Palace.
* Beka Natsvlishvili, Georgian Dream - Krtsanisi, Ponichala district.
* Ilia Jishkariani, Free Democrats – Avlabari, Metromsheni district.
* Irakli Abuseridze, Georgian Dream – Vazisubani, Eighth Legion district.
* Zura Neparidze, National Forum – Navtlugi district.
