Georgian ballet dancer awarded the Japanese Praise Award

Nino Ananiashvili is the first Georgian artist who merited the Praise Award from Japan.

The Georgian ballet dancer, Nino Ananiashvili was awarded by the Embassy of Japan in Georgia with the Praise Award.

The award ceremony was held in the Japanese Embassy in Tbilisi. Nino Ananiashvili is the first Georgian artist who merited this prize for the strengthening friendship between Japan and Georgia. The Ambassador of Japan in Georgia Toshio Kaitani said that Ananiashvili is a brilliant dancer.

"I am very glad for this prize. I had toured in Japan many times and all I remember from Japanese people is the enormous love toward them. said Nino Ananiashvili.

The 50-year-old ballet dancer and artistic director of the State Ballet of Georgia, Nino Ananiashvili had several tours in Japan. In May of 2011, she performed the ballet "Madam Butterfly episode "The Japanese Dreams, an opera by Giacomo Putchini. The money from the concert was sent to Japanese victims of earthquake and Tsunami.
