The New Georgian President, Giorgi Margvelashvilis Presidents Swearing-in Ceremony was held in the parliaments old building courtyard in Tbilisi, on November 17, at 1:00 pm.
More than 900 guests attended inauguration ceremony. 53 countrys delegation was invited to the Presidents Swearing-in Ceremony. According to the Georgias Minister of Foreign Affairs, it was the largest foreign delegation which has ever attended Presidents Swearing-in Ceremony.
Neither ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili, nor the parliamentary minority (The United National Movement) and Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava attended the inauguration ceremony, although they have been invited.
The ceremony lasted for 30 minutes. After the inauguration speech, President Margvelashvili went to the War Heroes Memorial in honor of the fallen soldiers.
The budget of the Presidents Swearing-in Ceremony and all receptions of the day for guests amounts to 850,000 GEL.
